The 2009 Video Music Awards on MTV were a hit Sunday night. While most moments were happy and thrilling, there was one that really proved to be embarrasing and crazy. When the time came to give the award for the best female music video, two women stood out as the clear favorites, being Beyonce and Taylor Swift. As Taylor Swift was announced as the winner the entire crowd seemed to agree with the choice of the voters, the entire crowd except for Kanye West. When Swift was standing on the stage giving her acceptance speech, Kanye decided that he should go up and rudely interupt Swift not only by just being on the stage unannounced but by also taking the mic from Taylor and voicing his opinion on whom he thought the winner should have been. West said, "Hey Taylor. I'm really happy for you and i'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! All time!" After his comment, West was booed off the stage and escorted out of the building. Later on in the show when Beyonce was awarded a moon man for video of the year, Beyonce called Taylor back out so that she could have her moment and give a proper acceptance speech. Kanye has since apologized for his embarrasing outburst.
